The successful candidate will provide bioengineering and biomaterials expertise in the development, evaluation and manufacture of existing and new cardiac and vascular tissue based devices. Implement product and process improvements. Provide expertise in the areas of mechanics, engineering, materials testing, hydrodynamics, analysis and testing for new product development, and existing product assessment, evaluation and improvement.

Responsibilities include:

• Propose, plan, execute and justify approaches in development of novel bio-engineered tissue and materials based medical devices.
• Develop and document the testing protocols to support regulatory submissions (U.S., ISO, other) for all products as required.
• Oversee the transfer of new technologies from R&D to manufacturing through Product Development and Application Engineering.
• Support internal technical needs through existing and competitive product testing and evaluation.
• Assist Operations in improving existing processes and products.
• Write grant proposals to assist financial support of device development.
• Document research and development efforts through company reports, journal publications or participation/presentations at professional meetings.
• Develop and manage budgets for reporting divisions.

The qualified candidate will have:

• Advanced degree in engineering or related field with expertise in biomedical engineering or science.
• Experience in the development of test protocols, management of research projects and effective team functionality.
• Familiarity with tissue based devices.
• Demonstrated sense of product development and improvement.
• Experience in project, personnel, and budget management.
• Proven strong skills in written and verbal communication, decision making and problem solving
