Microbiologist – Food

The Wellington Group has been engaged to find an experienced Food Microbiologist for a well-known network of testing labs. Put your expertise in Microbiology to work in a new position today!

Responsible for conducting and supervising chemical analyses and research, on a variety of sample types for such purposes as quantitative analysis, product development, and improvement of analytical methodologies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Achieves period and annual budgeted food, labor and controllable costs in all areas of production operations
  • Prepares and analyzes samples, as assigned
  • Develops and validates new analytical methods for use in the laboratory
  • Develops analytical procedures and methodologies and troubleshoots technical problems
  • Performs necessary administrative functions in the laboratory

The qualified candidate will have:

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience based on education (see below)
  • Ph.D., or M.S. + 5 years, or B.S. + 10 years
  • In-depth understanding of the concepts underlying laboratory procedures including instrumental analysis and wet chemistry techniques
